Originally constructed circa 1984 as the "Mary Ellen Motel" (named in honor of its founding owner), our motel has been welcoming travelers to Ipswich for over four decades.
In the late 1990s, the property was renamed to **Central Motel Ipswich** to reflect its premium, unmatched position in the CBD. In August 2015, the motel was purchased by the current local hosts, **Michael and Julie Blades**. Since taking ownership, they have driven extensive, ongoing renovations to replace all bedding, retile the ensuite bathrooms, and upgrade the interiors with modern comforts while maintaining its warm, family-style hospitality.
